The Gallatin Association of REALTORS® (GAR) in Bozeman, Montana seeks a mission-driven and member-focused leader to serve as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Board of Directors seeks a candidate with a passion for association management and for supporting the REALTOR® profession. The GAR operates out of a newly remodeled state of the art facility on the west side of Bozeman.

GAR is one of Gallatin County's largest business organizations, with approximately 1,500 members from across Montana who specialize in a variety of real estate activities, including appraisal, commercial development, farm and ranch, residential, recreational land, and resort properties. GAR also offers Partner membership to related industries like banking institutions, title and escrow, home inspection. photography, construction, restoration, insurance, and communications. JOB SUMMARY

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) oversees Gallatin Association of Realtors (GAR) operations and implements the strategic vision and mission of the organization. The position plans and develops programs and projects to promote professionalism and provide service to members and administers GAR’s staff, budget, policies, and facilities to ensure efficient program operations and compliance with applicable regulations. The position reports to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and manages a Membership Director, Education Director, Government Affairs Director and other staff or contractors as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and on-going assessment of the GAR strategic plan.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with the organization’s bylaws, policies, and Board directives.
  • Direct and coordinate approved programs, projects, and staff activities.
  • Manage REALTOR® Association Core Standards
  • Provide executive support to the Board of Directors with meetings, communications, selecting leadership and other executive functions. Update the Board of Directors about Association business, and implement Board and Committee decisions, contracts, and commitments. Maintain association documentation.
  • Coordinate membership functions (dues collection, orientation, technical assistance, market statistics, website, lockboxes, promotions, and member recruitment,) to meet member needs and to maintain and expand association membership.
  • Maintain professional standards processes for arbitration and enforcement of the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS®; attend Ethics and Arbitration hearings as required of the position.
  • Develop and implement REALTORS® Orientation and Continuing Education programs to provide ongoing professional development and certification opportunities for members.
  • Administer GAR’s budget, staff, equipment, and facilities to ensure efficient program operations and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate public relations to publicize and gain support for GAR initiatives and activities.
  • Manage association staff and contractors to accomplish organizational goals in compliance with association policy and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate operations of the Gallatin REALTORS® Charitable Foundation to support its Board in providing financial resources and assistance to those in need.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

GAR will consider any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, management, or a related field and three (3) years related experience including association or program management and supervisory experience. Requires the ability to attain Realtor Association Certified Executive (RCE) designation within three years of employment. Real estate experience and Realtor Association Certified Executive (RCE) designation preferred.

Requires a valid Montana Driver's license or the ability to attain one upon hire, an acceptable driving record, and adequate automobile insurance. Candidates are subject to reference, credit, and background checks.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Requires knowledge of the principles and practices of program management and business administration including
  • communications,

  • not-for-profit administration,
  • policy development and administration,
  • outreach and public relations,
  • budget management,
  • human resource management,
  • employment law,
  • state and federal regulations related to the real estate profession (preferred).
Requires skill in:
  • using office equipment including a personal computer and business software;
  • understanding and interpreting statutes, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines;
  • proficiently using specialized software including but not limited to videoconferencing, customer service, and financial software
  • communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Requires the ability to:
  • assess and critically evaluate financial statements;
  • establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, elected officials, REALTORS®, and citizens;
  • effectively work with volunteer committees;
  • act as a change agent within the Association and identify opportunities for improvement while maintaining activities that accomplish the organization's goals and objectives;
  • handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously without jeopardizing quality; and
  • manage disagreements through open discussion with affected parties.

COMPENSATION

GAR offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 To $110,000 annually plus opportunity for performance-based bonuses, depending on qualifications.
